The Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya has congratulated Prince Ikenwoli Gbesimi Emiko on his coronation as the 20th Olu of Warri.
“I send my best wishes to the Itsekiri people for a happy coronation” he said.
In a statement issued in Asaba, the speaker described the coronation of the monarch as a great day for Deltans, particularly the Itsekiri people.
He urged the monarch to use his knowledge acquired through experience and education for the advancement of the State.
“Today’s security, economic and cultural challenges require an ever stronger cooperation and solidarity between the ethnic groups in the state”.
He also advised the Warri Monarch to ensure a better future for progress, prosperity and well-being for the good people of Itsekiri.
“I wish to assure you of my full availability to work with you on building a peaceful Delta State”
“I wish you, members of the Olu Advisory Council and the Warri Council of Chiefs long years of prosperity and well-being. I also wish all members of the royal family continued good health and happiness and the Itsekiri people much progress and prosperity” he said.
He urged Deltans, particularly the Itsekiri people to give him all the support and due regard to enable him rule successfully.

Delta Speaker Promises Ugborhen, Others Greater Attention
Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya has described the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) administration in the state as a people’s regime.
He also called for suggestions that would make the administration an easy one to run.
Speaking at Ugborhen in the Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State while presenting an 18 seater bus to Adaka Grammar School, Igbuya said “the PDP administration is committed to transforming the area.
“This is an Okpe government. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is an Okpe man and Okpe people must support him. So many things will come to Okpe kingdom.” he said.
The speaker called on the people to support the government in its efforts to develop the state.
“Okpe kingdom will continue to receive special attention of the state government” he said.
The speaker also spoke on projects which had either been completed or were in progress.
He stressed on road maintenance scheme by DESOPADEC, Ministry of Works and Direct Labour Agency in the state.
The speaker pointed out that the government was doing its possible best to rehabilitate and construct roads in the state.
The construction of a model market in Orerokpe, completion of Sapele Market, dualization of Amukpe – Okirighwe Road, renovation of Sapele Technical College, establishment of a model school in Orerokpe and other projects, according to him “is purely to improve the quality of life of the entire citizenry.
Igbuya who is more concerned with the welfare of the people and the economic development of the state commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for putting education on a proper footing in the state, appointing Okpe people into key positions and developing Okpe kingdom.
He then promised that he would look into every issue and find solution to them with the cooperation of the people.
“I will do my best. I will visit Ugborhen soon to thank you for supporting our great party. The Appeal Court judgement is a confirmation of the vote you gave me” he said.
He thanked the people for celebrating their leaders, promising that the PDP administration would continue to be open to ideas and suggestions from them on ways of improving the lot of the people of the oil rich Ugborhen community.
He appealed to telecommunication companies to extend their facilities to the area.
The president of Ugborhen Community, Chief Anthony Amitaye in his address said that the community felt concerned about the fencing of Adaka Grammar School, tarring of link roads and engaging the youth in entrepreneurial programmes.
He thanked the state government for its past support and cooperation and asked that such support should be continued.

The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya on Sunday hailed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, saying “the governor is on course and determined to turn the state around”
“God places people in authority and when you challenge any man in authority, you challenge God. Notwithstanding the economic challenges, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa deserves commendation” he said.
He also described the April 11 House of Assembly Election in Sapele Constituency as the toughest in his political career.
Igbuya who spoke at the thanksgiving service of Rhema Place Ministries in Effurun, Uvwie Local Government said it was regrettable that some politicians were pre-occupied with the politics of destruction.
The Delta Speaker who spoke about the last House of Assembly election accused some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sapele Local Government of engaging in acts inimical to the growth of the party in the state.
“Some members of our political family worked against my interest and the interest of our great party during the April 11, 2015 House of Assembly Election but I won the election. I also won at the Tribunal and the Court of Appeal” he said.
He appealed to Nigerians not to see politicians as idol worshippers.
“Power belongs to God and when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. Not all politicians are idol worshippers. If God says you cannot occupy a position, there is no way you can achieve that”.
Using his life as a testimony and recounting how he challenged God before the election, Igbuya said God made his victory possible.
‘I am not the most intelligent person in Sapele. God made me a member of the Delta State House of Assembly. He also made me Speaker of the Honourable House”.
He urged Nigerians to be dedicated and always seek the face of God in whatever they are doing.
He also urged the people of the state to support Governor Okowa.
“Governor Ifeanyi Okowa will be governor for eight years. Pray for him always so that God can use him to make Delta State more prosperous” he added.
