Omo-Agege reaffirms support for APC, denies TNN affiliation

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has set the record straight regarding rumours of his affiliation with a group Team New Nigerian, TNN, insisting he is committed to advancing the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ideals of progressive governance and citizen welfare.
In an official statement issued yesterday and signed by his Special Adviser, Godwin Anaughe, the Delta State APC leader dismissed claims circulating in sections of the media that he had joined the opposition Team New Nigerian (TNN) group as “entirely false and malicious”.
The statement described the allegations as the work of “blackmailers seeking to tarnish the Senator’s reputation and create unnecessary tension”. It emphasised that Omo-Agege has never been and has no plans to become affiliated with TNN.
As the leader who pilots the affairs of the APC in Delta, the statement stressed that the Senator “remains a dedicated leader and major stakeholder.
The statement went on to describe Omo-Agege as a “steadfast advocate” who has consistently championed good governance throughout his political career.
Perhaps most importantly, the statement sought to dispel any speculation around the Senator’s position regarding President Bola Tinubu and his ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’. It quoted Omo-Agege as being “fully committed” to supporting the transformative plans focused on empowerment, infrastructure, security and improved access to opportunities.
Concluding his remarks, Godwin emphasised the Senator’s belief that Tinubu’s vision will propel Nigeria to a brighter future, and his confidence in the President’s leadership.
He called on the public to “disregard this misleading information”, exposing the entire defection saga as a “desperate attempt to sow confusion”.
A stern warning was also issued to the originators of the “falsehoods”, urging them to redirect their efforts towards “constructive engagement rather than deceitful tactics”.
Omo-Agege’s commitment to the APC and its agenda of building a better Nigeria remained “unshaken”, the statement affirmed.
