PRESIDENT BUHARI EXTOLS BOSS MUSTAPHA AT 65, DESCRIBES HIM AS A DEDICATED PUBLIC SERVANT

President Muhammadu Buhari has described the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr. Boss Mustapha, as a dedicated public servant, saying that the nation’s Covid-19 management under him is worthy of praise.

President Buhari stated this in a statement on the occasion of Mustapha’s 65th birthday anniversary.

The President explained that “since his appointment as SGF, my respect and admiration for Mustapha have grown ever stronger and deeper because of the passion and energy with which he does his job.”

He said “Mr. Mustapha is a remarkably competent person who enjoys the confidence and support of his colleagues,” and commended him for “playing a big part in the nation’s unparalleled success in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

President Buhari urged “other public servants to borrow a leaf from Boss Mustapha who does his job with passion and amazing talent for details.”

Ekiti 2022: PDP Releases Timetable, Commences Sale of Forms September 13.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released its timetable and schedule of activities in early preparation for the June 18, 2022 Ekiti Governorship Election.

In line the timetable, the National Working Committee (NWC) has approved the Sales of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms from Monday, September 13 to Thursday, September 30, 2021, with Tuesday, October 5, 2021 as the last date for the submission of forms.

The NWC has also fixed the Screening of Aspirants for Monday, October 11, 2021. Appeals on the screening exercise are scheduled for Thursday, October 25, 2021.

Consequently, the PDP congresses to elect the 3-man Adhoc Ward Delegates has been scheduled to hold from Friday, January 7 to Saturday, January 8, 2022.

Local Government Congresses to elect one National Delegates as well as one person living with disability from each local government area in the state have been scheduled to hold on Saturday, January 15, 2022.

All leaders, critical stakeholders, aspirants, teeming members and supporters of our party in Ekiti State and the nation at large are by this guided accordingly as we work together to strengthen our great party for the task ahead.

PDP Rolls Out Procedures for Cross River State Congress

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the procedure for its fresh State congress in Cross River states.

This is sequel to the approval of the cancellation of the earlier processes specifically the Screening Exercise for the State Congress . This was as a result of some developments that arose from the defection of Governor Ben Ayade and some of his followers and supports to the All Progressive Congress.

The decision of the NWC, in pursuant to its powers under the PDP Constitution, is to ensure fairness and transparency in line with the strict adherence to the tenets of the internal democracy of the PDP.

Under the fresh procedure, the State congress is open to new aspirants for the various offices of the State Executive alongside those who had earlier purchased forms for the exercise.

The sale of forms for only State Offices will commence from Friday, September 3 to Friday, September 10, 2021.

Waivers have however been granted to those who had earlier purchased forms, to enable them participate without purchasing new forms.

All our leaders, critical stakeholders, aspirants to various offices, teeming members and supporters of our great party in Cross River State should be guided accordingly in this collective quest to strengthen our party for the task ahead.

Anambra: PDP Savours Appeal Court Judgment on Ozigbo, Optimistic of Victory

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) receives with delight, the judgement of the Court of Appeal, which affirmed its candidate, Valentine Ozigbo, for the November 6, 2021 Anambra state governorship election.

The party thanks the judiciary for restoring peace and unity in the PDP as well as strengthening the confidence of the people in the PDP ahead of the election.

The PDP notes that with the judgement, the time has come for all members, critical stakeholders and teeming supporters of our party to come together as a family to work in the interest of our party and our candidate, Ozigbo, knowing that the people of Anambra state are waiting for the PDP to restore the loses of the past years under the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).

The PDP thanks all stakeholders of our party for their resilience in keeping our ranks closed despite the challenges, while enjoining all members to put the past behind and work in the renewed hope that awaits us on November 6.

Olowo, Deputy Rector Commend Dr. Oshodi For Boosting Youths Sports In Ondo State

 

 

 

The Olowo of Owo, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye II, and the Deputy Rector (Admin and Dev.), Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Dr. Alagha Adelanke have described as commendable the sports competition organised by Dr. Abiola Oshodi Foundation for youths in Owo and Ose local government areas.

In his address at event on Thursday evening, the monarch, who was represented by Mr. Samuel Adewale, said using sports to develop and take away youths from crimes is a good gesture.

He noted that was why he established Olowo Football Competitions among secondary schools in the kingdom.

 

The deputy Rector, who is an engineer, said the gesture by Dr. Oshodi, a Canada-based medical doctor from the town, would go a long way in boosting sporting inclination of youths in Owo.

He appreciated the psychiatrist for exploring all means to develop youths in the kingdom particularly by paying bursary, awarding schorlarship and organising JAMB forms for students.

 

The deputy Rector said: “I will like to thank our illustrious and industrious son, Dr. Abiola Oshodi for his act of benevolence, philanthropy, kindness and unparalleled ingenuity. He is a community developer, a youth friendly philanthropist, a silent achiever, an astute and erudite scholar who has pleasure in investing in human capacity building and progression. This will no doubt take them away from the streets and stem down the current wave in social vices and nefarious activities.”

Aliyu Hussein Taye, the chairman, Organising Committee of the competition, described the event as a great one that brought all and sundry together to compete for the trophies. Real Ifon FC of Ose won the match, defeating Emalex FC, Owo 1-0, while the 3rd place was won by Owomade Metropol FC.

 

Present at the event are His Royal Majesty, Oba Ebenezer Adewumi Ogunmolasuyi, The Olupenmen of Upenmen land, Chairman of Owo Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Samuel Adegbegi among others.
